UK to re-allocate 700MHz DTT spectrum to mobile broadband
Nov 19, 2014 – The UK’s communications regulator, Ofcom, has announced a decision to allow mobile network operators to deliver mobile broadband using some of the 700MHz frequency band currently used for digital terrestrial TV services.

Pay TV service adoption higher in the U.K. and Germany than in Spain
Nov 19, 2014 – Parks Associates has announced research showing pay-TV adoption in Germany and the U.K. has reached 86% and 78% of broadband households, respectively. Spanish adoption is much lower, with 47% of broadband households receiving only local broadcast channels.

SFR launches La Box TV Fibre in France

IPTV will account for 24% of UK media connections by end-2018
Nov 17, 2014 – Quantum-Web analysis shows that IPTV share of media connections doubled during 2014, rising from 7.4% at end-2013 to 14.9% at end-2014. This shift towards IPTV will continue and IPTV will account for 23.7% of UK media connections by end-2018.
