Poland's 'n' DTH adds 17k post-paid in 3Q09

WARSAW — TVN Group, Poland’s leading media group, today announced its financial results for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2009. TVN is the leading integrated media group in Poland which operates three major business segments – television broadcasting and production, online and digital satellite pay television.

Digital satellite pay television

We control the ‘n’ DTH platform, a new generation digital satellite platform launched in October 2006, offering pay television services in Poland. As of September 30, 2009, the ‘n’ DTH platform had signed up almost 573,000 (not in thousands) post paid subscribers, of which over 571,000 had been activated.

Since October 2008, the ‘n’ DTH platform has operated “Telewizja na kartę” (TNK), which has over 159,000 active pre-paid subscribers (not in thousands) as of September 30, 2009.

Three Months Ended September 30, 2009

Our DTH platform ‘n’, increased its post paid subscriber base by over 17,000 (not in thousands) in the three months ended September 30, 2009. As of September 30, 2009, the ‘n’ DTH platform had signed up almost 573,000 (not in thousands) post paid subscribers, of which over 571,000 (not in thousands) had been activated. In September 2009, the ‘n’ DTH platform recorded a monthly average revenue per subscriber (“ARPU”) of PLN 56.1 (not in thousands), compared to PLN 52.9 (not in thousands) in September 2008.

TNK increased its pre-paid subscriber base by almost 56,000 (not in thousands) in the three months ended September 30, 2009. As of September 30, 2009, TNK had over 159,000 active prepaid subscribers and a subscriber base of over 289,000 (not in thousands). The ‘n’ DTH platform including TNK, had reached a total active subscriber
number of 730,000 (not in thousands) as of September 30, 2009.

Nine Months Ended September 30, 2009

The ‘n’ DTH platform increased its post paid subscriber base by over 78,000 (not in thousands) in the nine months ended September 30, 2009. As of September 30, 2009, the ‘n’ DTH platform had signed up almost 573,000 (not in thousands) post paid subscribers of which over 571,000 (not in thousands) had been activated.

TNK increased its pre-paid subscriber base by over 198,000 (not in thousands) in the nine months ended September 30, 2009. As of September 30, 2009, TNK had over 159,000 active prepaid subscribers and a subscriber base of over 289,000 (not in thousands). The ‘n’ DTH platform including TNK, had reached a total active subscriber number of 730,000 (not in thousands) as of September 30, 2009.
