Wednesday, March 17th, 2010France’s Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) has reported latest results from its survey on the penetration of digital TV in French households.
Highlights for the second half of 2009:
- Nearly eight in ten households (78.4%) have at least one television with digital TV reception (DTT, satellite, ADSL or cable).
- Nearly half of households (47.7%) are fully digital, that is to say that all TVs have been converted to digital reception.
- About one in eight households (12.9%) still receives television via analogue terrestrial, a decrease of 9.5 points in one year.
- 48.3% of households have chosen DTT. DTT remains, mainly because it is free, the engine of growth for digital reception.
