ISTANBUL — AirTies, the innovative wireless home networking vendor, is announcing a strategic partnership with GooMe Interactive, a provider of over-the-top (OTT) media solutions for operators, to deliver an end-to-end, content-rich TV experience. The combined solution offers a set-top-box (STB) with advanced graphics capabilities, supporting Pause-LiveTV and progressive download using Flash memory without the need for costly hard drives. AirTies STB comes pre-configured with GooMe’s OTT Platform M Cube, a content management system that allows the user to seamlessly view any content including TV, online video, personal home media, music, websites, social networking, widgets, games and more on any screen – TV, PC or mobile handset.

The collaboration between the two innovative OTT companies was born from a desire to offer the following turnkey solutions: For ISPs, mobile operators and content providers looking to enhance their broadband offerings with additional entertainment services; for existing Pay TV companies wanting to enrich their content offering with web and home media services or to expand to new platforms, like mobile. AirTies wireless STB features advanced user interface with hardware graphic acceleration through a browser. It has the flexibility of a browser-based middleware, while providing transparent menus, smooth graphic effects and animations, enabling the user to intuitively manage and view personal content such as photos, home videos, and music on his TV and entertainment sets. In addition, it has full wireless connectivity, which is proven to offer excellent service quality, overcoming latency and jitter issues associated with alternative wireless solutions. By removing the need for cables between networked equipment such as STBs, PCs, printers, storage devices and IP Gateways, it delivers on the promise of a truly networked digital home and offers users the very latest in HD graphical images.

According to Danny Peled, CEO of GooMe, “The AirTies AirTouch 7124 STB was an easy choice as a preferred platform because it ticked key boxes for our content management system, such as dual core processor capabilities, support for progressive downloads (to overcome issues of network latency), Universal Plug and Play and support for DTT channels.” He added, “Other aspects that really appealed included the fact that it supports different Codecs for web and home media formats and comes complete with the Broadcom state-of-the-art graphics chipset.”

Bulent Celebi, CEO of AirTies comments, “We are very excited about the potential offered by the partnership with another highly innovative company like GooMe. Both organisations are committed to building the next generation home networking solutions and share the vision of the connected home network that allows the freedom to circulate various sources of digital content between different devices, offering people the ability to consume digital content on whichever medium is most convenient; whether in the home on the PC or TV, or out and about on the mobile handset.”
