Multimedia Polska adds 1.7k digital TV subscribers in Q1"²10
Thursday, May 6th, 2010The Multimedia Polska Group (Warsaw:MMP) has published its report for the three months ended 31 March 2010.
As at 31 March 2010, our Group had 1,249,460 revenue generating units (RGUs), including 662,528 cable TV RGUs (of which 7,369 IPTV RGUs and 100,754 DTV RGUs), 330,920 broadband Internet RGUs, 205,343 voice RGUs, 31,330 premium channels RGUs, 18,649 indirect voice services, and 690 payphones.
As at 31 March 2010, we had ca. 307,000 subscribers who have subscribed for more than one service, including ca. 91,000 triple play subscribers.
In the first quarter 2010, we recorded a net increase in RGUs of 14,391 (after churn), including a 2,827 decline in CATV RGUs (including the disconnection of 4,534 analog cable TV RGUs as a result of price increases and changes in programming content and addition of 298 IPTV RGUs and 1,409 DTV RGUs).
Our digital television services, both DTV and IPTV, generated combined revenues of PLN 8.9m in Q1 2010 compared to PLN 5.5m in Q1 2009. As at 31 March 2010, the Group had ca. 108,100 digital television subscribers in both technologies (DTV and IPTV). As a result of the launch of new services, such as VoD, HDTV, interactive amazing TV etc., the Company expects to see further growth in the number of DTV users.
