BELFAST, UK — Latens (IBC stand no. 4.B60), the leading provider of software security solutions for Pay-TV across all networks and Entone (IBC stand no. IP-503), the market leader in Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, today announced the launch of ECO UI5 middleware and its successful integration with Entone’s Amulet IPTV Receiver and Janus Media Hub. Latens ECO UI5 integrated with Entone hybrid devices delivers an advanced combination of middleware and conditional access functionality, providing operators with a high-performance, market-leading and cost-effective Hybrid TV solution.

Combining Entone’s advanced high performance hybrid devices and Latens ECO UI5 provides many advantages for both operator and subscriber, including a more compelling viewer experience with stunning high-definition graphics, an advanced discovery-based content guide, an instant search and a user-interface filled with posters and images that makes maximum use of available metadata.

“The new features of the ECO UI5 middleware with conditional access are leveraged through the leading-edge functionality and capabilities of Entone’s hybrid devices,” explains Simon Leadlay, Latens ECO Product Manager. “The high-performance graphics and high-quality software components provided by Entone allowed us to create an incredibly rich, high-definition interface driven by cover art and posters. It’s responsive, intuitive and gives you seamless access to broadcast, on-demand, and over-the-top content.”

Latens ECO middleware enables a complete viewing experience to all screens in the home and is designed to work across all network types, to be deployed in all regions and in all languages. The ECO system incorporates Latens CAS to ensure that all content is secure and available across all devices including PC, iPad, mobile devices and multiple set-top boxes. The ECO solution also scales to allow an operator to increase or modify the feature portfolio to ensure a future-proof solution.

“We are pleased to announce this latest integration between Entone and Latens. This adds to the growing number of set top box providers that are choosing Latens ECO because of its pre-integrated CAS.” said Jean-Paul Heron, Director of Client Integration, Latens. “IPTV operators need a proven and tested integration between the core elements of their offering; the tight integration of Entone hybrid devices with our ECO UI5 assures operators that the IPTV service they deploy will be a success, while reducing the additional cost and pain of integrations.”

“Partnering with a world-class partner like Latens further strengthens our presence in the market,” said Bart Vanderostyne, Director of EMEA at Entone. “Our complementary technologies enable service providers to quickly deploy hybrid video services while offering subscribers more advanced services such as multi-room DVR and OTT/Web media services.”
