Working with leading systems integrator, three specialist players in video delivery show integrated ecosystem for multi device adaptive streaming support

SAN FRANCISCO — Envivio, Edgeware, and Verimatrix today announce that they have collaborated to provide an integrated ecosystem solution featuring highly scalable video processing, distribution and content security for HTTP Live Streaming video services to multiple screens. The solution has already been selected by a leading, global systems integrator which is combining its linear IPTV, time-shift TV and VOD architecture with the joint solution to enable operators to offer a true TV Everywhere service.

A demonstration of this solution will be shown at IBC 2010. For more information contact Edgeware (stand4.B58), Envivio (stand 1.D72), Verimatrix (stand 4.B84).

Together the three partners have developed a tested, end-to-end, multi-screen solution for IPTV operators that eliminates the need to struggle with a confusing array of new technology and system choices. This enables operators to quickly take full advantage of new revenue opportunities within subscriber environments, offering their services to Internet connected devices such as TVs, computers, mobile devices and game consoles.

The combined solution provides full adaptive streaming using the open HTTP Live Streaming standard, enabling dynamic delivery of higher or lower bit-rates according to variable network conditions and device capabilities. Within the solution the Envivio 4Caster™ C4(2) provides the high quality multi-bitrate video processing and encoding for content protection, the Verimatrix VCAS 3 system provides the trusted conditional access and revenue security system and Edgeware’s WTV servers provide the highly scalable distribution and delivery servers.

“We are delivering a solution that allows providers to quickly launch competitive new services to new devices. There are a growing range of TV and video options available to consumers and providers need to move fast, without having to worry about integration and technology issues within the delivery system,” said Jon Haley, vice president of business development, Edgeware.

“Envivio solutions provide unparalleled video processing capability for the three screens that delivers excellent video quality for any application. Working with Edgeware and Verimatrix we have created a tightly integrated, highly secure and scalable solution for premium content distribution to a broad range of devices,” said Boris Felts, vice president of marketing, Envivio.

“As a specialist in revenue security for video services, we have always cultivated an ecosystem approach to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions,” commented Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer at Verimatrix. “This collaborative effort demonstrates the impact that such partnerships can have on streamlining applications of new technologies. Multi-network and multi-screen video solutions are what our customers are demanding, and this solution addresses their needs in a very effective way.”
