AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — IBC 2010 — SecureMedia, a Motorola (NYSE: MOT) Company and the most experienced provider of content protection software for secure video and multimedia delivery over IP networks and Inview Technology Limited, a pioneering creator of interactive services for terrestrial broadcast TV and the developer of the most popular on-screen guide for the FreeView platform with over 9 million subscribers, announced today the development, demonstration and calendar launch of NEELiX, a new high performance Interactive TV Service / Platform for IP connected TVs and set-top boxes protected by SecureMedia Encryptonite ONE™ Digital Media Security System.

Specifically engineered for resource constrained environments, NEELiX incorporates a fully integrated EPG, media browser and personal schedule tool designed with convenience in mind. A recommendation engine searches out broadcast and internet content that is relevant to individual user viewing profiles, viewing history, friend’s recommendations and video ranking. It also boasts a wide range of widget applications that provide easy access to internet content including video streaming, instant messaging, news and weather reports, online radio and secure On Demand TV without having to use a browser or search engines.

Inview has designed NEELiX to be an evolving service and content delivery platform. Additional widgets will become available over time and NEELiX software development kits will enable third parties to create their own widgets, which subject to approval, can be launched into the system. Also, upon launch, NEELiX offers unique advertising opportunities, with a constant on-screen ad presence every time the user switches channel or uses the remote control.

Unveiling in SecureMedia’s Stand at IBC 2010 Connected World, Stand 301 Hall 9, the Inview NEELiX Interactive Digital TV Platform will first launch its secure broadcast service in Italy this month followed by IP connected TV’s and set top boxes by the end of the year. Launches in Germany and the UK are planned for early in the New Year, continuing an aggressive EMEA roll out.
