MTK and Realtek cooperate to supply connected TV chips to Skyworth
Friday, September 24th, 2010MediaTek (MTK) [Taipei: 2454] and Realtek Semiconductor [Taipei: 2379] will supply IPTV chips to Skyworth [Hong Kong: 0751] in 4Q 2010, according to media reports in Taiwan. The chips have been jointly developed by the two companies and target the connected TV market.
According to earlier reports, MTK was competing with MStar Semiconductor for the business which is expected to generate orders for 600,000 units.
