ATLANTA, GA — TelcoTV — MetaSwitch, a leading vendor of carrier-class softswitch and application solutions, and Minerva Networks, a leading provider of open-platform, carrier-class solutions for the delivery of television services over IP networks, will be demonstrating a joint application that will allow carriers to increase customer control of their digital telephony services through a television interface.
“Carriers are continuously seeking new ways to generate revenue and increase their subscriber base by providing compelling new applications,” said Matt Cuson, vice president of marketing for Minerva. “Adding the robust suite of MetaSwitch applications to our comprehensive software platform provides broadband users with the full power and benefits of advanced IPTV services.”
Seamlessly blending VoIP, legacy TDM and next-generation telephony applications, customers will be able to view and access web-based contacts on their television sets, as well as take advantage of click-to-dial features via their remote controls.
The combined solution incorporates the enhanced services of MetaSwitch CommPortal, a fully customizable subscriber interface, with Minerva iTVManager. With converged IP telephony and video, service providers can increase revenue opportunities from existing customers, as well as offer a compelling advantage when pursuing new customers in an increasingly competitive subscriber market.
“This is another instance of MetaSwitch choosing a top-notch partner to jointly deliver an innovative service to customers,” said Andrew Randall, vice president of marketing at MetaSwitch. “This collaboration is a critical part of our efforts to ensure that service providers are able to quickly deploy highly scalable next-generation solutions.”
The combined MetaSwitch and Minerva solution will be demonstrated at the TelcoTV Conference and Expo in booth 450 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The Expo floor is open to show attendees Wednesday, Oct. 24 through Thursday, Oct. 25.
