Viaccess Provides Advanced Content Protection and Rights Management as Russia's NTV-PLUS Enters the IPTV Market

PARIS — Viaccess, a France Telecom (Paris: FTE; NYSE: FTE) group company and leader in conditional access and DRM systems, announced today that it is providing its scalable and flexible advanced content protection and rights management solution to NTV-PLUS as the satellite provider enters the IPTV market.

NTV-PLUS, the first DTH provider andleader of pay TV market in Russia will deliver IPTV services aimed at Russian broadband operators. Partnering with Viaccess, NTV-PLUS will address both IPTV and DTH subscribers seamlessly and without substantial investments in new equipment or software.

NTV-PLUS will offer high quality TV content of more than 100 channels for the IPTV programming, using Viaccess’ smart card, based on advanced content protection solution.

Viaccess technology ensures cooperation with content owners/studios and copyright holders to protect revenue, ARPU and return on investment from IPTV services.
