LAS VEGAS (NAB), United States — Net Insight (OMX Stockholm: NETI B), a leading developer of efficient and scalable transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, today announces that AR-SAT through its integrator Invap has selected Net Insight’s Nimbra platform for the National Terrestrial Digital TV Platform in Argentina.

AR-SAT, being in charge of the deployment of the infrastructure, has already selected the Nimbra platform for its national distribution project in May 2010. Net Insight has until today won three different orders related to the digital terrestrial TV network in Argentina, two of which in 2010.

The order value exceeds SEK 4 million.

The building of the national digital terrestrial TV (DTT) network in Argentina is based on a governmental investment decision to support distribution from four state owned channels. The national network is being built stepwise with many transmitter sites to follow.

The national platform will broadcast several signals of its own and of other local and communitarian radiobroadcasters, simultaneously. The plan is to incorporate different conjugations of signals in SD, HD, Full HD and mobile. The DTT network will be based on Net Insight’s Nimbra platform to distribute video services across the country. The network will provide scalable multicast capabilities and incorporate Net Insight’s unique Time Transfer feature for GPS-free time synchronization. The customer will also implement Nimbra Vision, a complete tool for efficient operation and maintenance of the Nimbra network.

“AR-SAT is basing the ISDB-T Transport network over fiber on the Nimbra Platform. After an evaluation and test, the Nimbra platform showed to fulfill the high quality and control that is required for our national distribution network”, says Mariano Goldschmidt, Marketing Manager at AR-SAT

“Net Insight is strengthening its position in Digital Terrestrial TV networks globally and this is the third order in Argentina,” says Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight. “This is the largest installation of GPS-free synchronization with the ISDB-T standard in the region”.
