httv launches HbbTV end-to-end solutions at ANGA Cable 2011

PARIS — Httv will be showcasing, at ANGA Cable 2011, several solutions based on the European standard HbbTV. Thoses solutions are dedicated to STB and connected TV manufacturers as well as operators.

httv has been a leading supplier of technical solutions for interactive TV services, providing broadcast and broadband solutions to operators for over 10 years.

httv has been involved in HbbTV since the early stage of the development of the standard and took part in several trials and demos – such as “Normandie TV” on DTT in France and “My Services TV” with AFDESI, the French association for the development of enhanced TV services and interactivity – highlighting the potential of hybrid services (broadcaster portal, news, online EPG, Catch-up TV).

At ANGA Cable 2011 httv will demonstrate an end-to-end HbbTV solution including its new DSM-CC Object Carousel play-out solution and an HbbTV middleware implementation on STB. httv will be able to demonstrate the complete cycle of HbbTV services with broadcast, broadband and STB components. “This end to end demo illustrates the ability of httv to support the STB and connected TV manufacturers looking for HbbTV solutions.” declared Jean-Christophe Jubin, httv’s sales and marketing director.

httv will also demonstrate PrimeEPG Hybrid, a complete EPG solution, to manage and broadcast EPG event information for hybrid / HbbTV Electronic Program Guides (DVB and Broadband). It broadcasts EIT P/F & schedule (or private data) and, if the STB is broadband connected, the PrimeEPG web server will offer rich media content online including access to catch up programs and VOD from the broadband. As a powerful event centric management solution, PrimeEPG can address other screens (web, mobile…) as well as interact with social network applications (based on TV events).
