OBERHAUSEN, Germany — ACCESS CO., LTD, a global provider of advanced software technologies to the mobile, beyond-PC and digital TV markets, announced today that CreNova Technology, the German set-top box specialist, has selected ACCESS’ market-leading HbbTV, BBC iPlayer and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) software solutions to power its hybrid set-top boxes.

The selected ACCESS technologies include NetFront™ Browser DTV Profile HbbTV Edition, NetFront™ Browser DTV Profile BBC iPlayer Edition and NetFront™ Living Connect 2.0, a DLNA Technology Component™ with market-proven, DLNA Certified device deployments in markets throughout the world.

ACCESS’ NetFront Browser DTV Profile HbbTV edition is the most widely deployed, platform-independent HbbTV software solution in the market today and enables CreNova Technology to bring HbbTV compliant set-top boxes to market, quickly and affordably. NetFront Browser solutions for HbbTV and BBC iPlayer as well as NetFront Living Connect 2.0 will be combined into one binary for integration with CreNova Technology’s hybrid set-top boxes. ACCESS powered CreNova Technology set-top boxes will be available to operators in the third quarter of 2011.
