ANT selected for Freesat branded satellite TV receivers
Monday, June 13th, 2011ANT plc (LSE AIM: ANTP), an established provider of software and services for the delivery of digital TV, today announces that Freesat, the UK Free-to-air satellite provider, has licensed ANT Galio for use in future Freesat branded satellite TV receivers. The agreement is expected to generate revenues in the current financial year.
Freesat is the UK’s fastest growing digital TV service with over 1.8 million customers. A joint venture between ITV and the BBC, Freesat provides subscription-free satellite services, including over 150 TV, radio and interactive channels across the UK.
This licensing agreement broadens ANT’s reach into the UK market and it is anticipated that the partnership with Freesat will drive additional ANT Galio Platform licenses.
