Tech Mahindra to provide Video Encoder Conformance Testing Services for Microsoft Mediaroom TV Software Platform

Sets up a test lab ensuring interoperability and conformance of encoders used in deployment of Microsoft Mediaroom

BANGALORE, India — Tech Mahindra Ltd., (NSE:TECHM), a global systems integrator and business transformation consulting organization focused on the communications industry, has been selected by Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) to setup an authorized Encoder Conformance Testing Lab (ECT Lab) for video encoders used in deployment of IPTV solutions on Microsoft Mediaroom based platforms. The Microsoft Mediaroom platform ecosystem includes real-time encoders, transcoders, user client and other integrated software components that enables delivery of multimedia content over an IP network.

Microsoft’s selection of Tech Mahindra for encoder conformance testing comes after a thorough evaluation of Tech Mahindra’s technical and operational abilities. With vast experience in the areas of multimedia content delivery solutions and in-depth understanding of video technologies, combined with extensive expertise in hosting & managing large captive labs for OEMs as well as TSPs, Tech Mahindra was the preferred candidate for this activity. Tech Mahindra has set up a state-of-the-art test lab in collaboration with Microsoft at its Bangalore facility for this activity. Encoders from OEMs across the globe will be tested and qualified against the conformance parameters set by Microsoft for the Mediaroom platform.
