Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Sercomtel, a telecommunications operator in the Brazilian state of Paraná, has announced the first result of its competition to find suppliers for its Sercomtel TV satellite DTH pay TV service.

The winning bidder was Media Networks Latin America (MNLA), a company dedicated to the provision of wholesale services for satellite pay-TV in Latin America. MNLA provides data processing services, content generation and advertising sales infrastructure that allows its clients to provide satellite television and satellite-based internet services to their subscribers.

Sercomtel is now working on tenders for set-top boxes, smartcards, satellite dishes, cables and other equipment needed for the provision of service.

Sercomtel’s licence from Anatel will allow it to offer the service throughout Brazil.
