Amino Communications (AIM: AMO), the leading IPTV/OTT solution provider, has sold and shipped its four millionth set-top box (STB).

The four millionth device – an M540 PVR IPTV set-top box – will be deployed by Netherlands-based fibre network operator Glashart Media, who have been working with Amino for the last six years .

Amino’s best-selling Aminet range has been installed in more than 85 countries around the world. Since launching its first product to market in 2002, Amino has developed a range of STBs to meet growing demand for IPTV from network operators, hospitality and enterprise markets. From early devices which simply offered standard definition television delivery, Amino has developed a string of award-winning products based on market-leading software development and unique curved styling.

More recently, the company has expanded its offering to capitalise on growing demand for OTT (Over-the-Top) open Internet delivered entertainment, launching the award-winning Amino Freedom media centre range and enhancing its Aminet IPTV range.

Glashart Media’s Managing Director Bert Meijerink said: “We are pleased to share this important milestone with our valued partner Amino. From our initial deployment of the A110 SD set-top box in 2005 through the A130 HD devices and our current deployment of the next generation M540 PVRs, we have always been impressed by the quality, reliability and advanced functionality of Amino’s offering – a view shared by our many customers.”

Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: “This is a great achievement and one which everyone associated with Amino is very proud. While our products have changed over the years, our values have remained consistent in terms of quality, customer focus and deep industry expertise.

“Amino is an export-led success story with our devices deployed by over 800 customers around the world. It’s fitting that the four millionth device has been deployed in Europe where we have seen great success over the years.”
