TV operators can now expand their services beyond the traditional Set-Top Box to a variety of tablets, mobile devices, PCs, and networked TVs

CUPERTINO, Calif. — Zenverge, Inc., a leading developer of Advanced Media ICs, and LG CNS, a global service provider and a leader in Android based STB products, announced today that they have been working together to create solutions for delivery of pay-TV services to multiple screens. This technology was first demonstrated at IBC 2011 in Amsterdam and the K-Labs 2011 show in Korea.

Based on the Zenverge TransALL™ Transcode engine, LG CNS has enabled a ubiquitous “Anywhere, Anytime, Any Device” media experience for their customers with its ability to TransFormat, TransRate, TransScale, TransCopy, TransZip, TransCrypt, TransQoS and TransWrap content. As such, linear TV broadcast, DVR recordings, as well as VOD content can be consumed inside the home network on any display device such as tablets, mobile devices, and network TVs.

The Zenverge TransALL™ Transcode engine powers products such as HDTVs, Blu-ray recorders, set-top boxes, multimedia NAS devices, headless gateways, media streamers and movers, portable device adapters, PCs, and network video equipment.

“We’re excited to be working with a global leader in technology services to develop new leading edge entertainment experiences for consumers,” said Zenverge CEO, Amir Mobini. “LG CNS has leveraged the full power of our industry leading technology to create a true multi-screen solution for pay-TV operators.”

“LG CNS is proud to provide the best user experience to our customers by allowing them to view our services on any display device,” said Deog-Joo Won, vice president of LG CNS Telecom and Media Business Unit. “We are extremely pleased with the performance of the Zenverge multi-stream Transcoder to make this challenging product a reality.”

LG CNS is the world’s first Android-based digital pay-broadcasting solution provider who has succeeded in commercializing Smart STB and is currently in product development and supplying to major cable TV operators in Korea. LG CNS demonstrated the world’s first Android-based pay-broadcasting STB in K-Labs 2010 and presented it to global TV operators at CES 2011. LG CNS has converted the mobile Android O/S for STB and integrated HDTV applications and pay-broadcasting services.
