CUPERTINO, CA — Entone, Inc., a leading provider of Hybrid TV and Connected Home solutions, continues to lead the industry’s move to hybrid TV services, announcing that Twin Lakes Telephone has selected its FusionTV™ solution.

Entone’s FusionTV solution enables Twin Lakes Telephone to offer their subscribers a unified experience that combines the best of live HDTV, digital video recorder (DVR) and cloud services via a single TV user interface. FusionTV is fully integrated with leading IPTV middleware and digital rights management (DRM) solutions. With a simple software update, Twin Lakes subscribers can instantly access and enjoy VUDU’s streaming library of over 50,000 titles, as well as more than 50 popular cloud-based services such as photo sharing from Flickr and Picasa, and social media via Facebook and Twitter — all without a truck roll.

For over 60 years, Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative has been committed to providing advanced telecommunications services to residential and business customers in rural communities throughout the state of Tennessee. Today, the cooperative has over 30,000 members.

“Our customers rely on us to provide them with personalized and reliable telecommunication services,” said Jonathan West, General Manager and CEO of Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative. “With Entone’s FusionTV solution, we can leverage our existing network to offer the best of HDTV and online (OTT) services without the capital and operating costs associated with traditional pay-TV service. By offering OTT, not only can we monetize our broadband network, but we continue to strengthen our relationship with our customers.”

Entone’s FusionTV solution is a turn-key managed service platform that combines traditional pay-TV service with OTT services and is delivered as an operator-branded service. FusionTV allows service providers to roll out a unique video-centric broadband service that can increase the average revenue per user (ARPU) and strengthen subscriber satisfaction, all without the upfront capital investment and content acquisition complexities of proprietary VOD systems. FusionTV is enabled by Entone’s 300 and 400 series of hybrid devices which integrates Broadcom’s advanced dual-core processor — providing a more flexible platform for supporting an array of video and hybrid TV applications.

“Broadband is becoming the anchor for residential triple-play services and is increasingly clear that whoever owns that relationship has the greatest opportunity to increase the value of their network,” commented Vince Vittore, Senior Analyst at Yankee Group. “By leveraging OTT and cloud service innovations using platforms like FusionTV, operators can offer a differentiated video service that drives subscriber growth and increases ARPU.”

“As OTT threatens to marginalize the role of the service provider, the best way for operators to defend against OTT is to embrace it and incorporate it as part of their IPTV or broadband offering,” said Ameer Karim, Vice President of Hybrid TV Solutions at Entone. “FusionTV is a cost-optimized solution for delivering a unified entertainment experience. We are pleased to be supporting Twin Lakes and look forward to helping them expand their market share.”
