Amino Communications (AIM: AMO), the leading IPTV/OTT solutions provider, will give a European debut to its new Amino Freedom Live media gateway at the IP&TV World Forum 2012 at London’s Olympia later this month.

The first hybrid/OTT media gateway to be powered by the new Intel® Atom™ Processor CE 5300 SoC, this new device combines dual core processing power with a range of new enhanced transcoding and encoding capabilities with multi-screen distribution to deliver content seamlessly to TVs, smartphones and tablets around the home.

At the Amino stand – no.41 – show visitors can see how content from a range of sources – including the open Internet – is formatted into a high quality “televisual” experience for TV, tablets and smartphones. The device also delivers 3D gaming, user generated content plus on-demand, traditional broadcast and, uniquely, high definition video calling.

Already shortlisted for an IP&TV award at this year’s show, the Freedom Live media gateway will be complemented by Amino’s Freedom Live and Jump media centres on the stand.

Alongside the Freedom range, Amino will also be showcasing its Aminet IPTV/OTT product portfolio – running on a range of industry leading middlewares – highlighting how customers can now seamlessly deploy OTT content alongside their existing IPTV service.

Demonstrations also include “cloud-based” live gaming, HLS (http live streaming) and “live” commercial OTT and IPTV services.

Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “This show has become the major European showcase for our industry and we’re delighted to demonstrate a full range of products that demonstrate innovation, quality and partnership working. The new Freedom media gateway is a great example of this and we look forward to showing its powerful multiscreen capabilities to visitors. Plus, we’ll show our IPTV product range has evolved with our partners to deliver seamless OTT functionality – underpinned by the highly competitive total cost of ownership which has become our hallmark in the industry.”

Amino’s Chief Technologist Kevin Lingley will be speaking at the event on Thursday 22nd March at 12.40pm on “Connected TVs vs STBs.”
