Quickflix launches movie streaming service in New Zealand

Quickflix Limited [ASX: QFX] (Quickflix) today announced the launch of its movie subscription streaming service in New Zealand becoming the first home entertainment company in that country to offer unlimited viewing of Hollywood movies and TV series streamed instantly on-demand over the internet.

New Zealand subscribers will have access to Quickflix streaming over a growing range of internet-connected devices including smart TVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles, PCs, Apple Macs, tablets and mobile phones.

Quickflix’s movie streaming, which recently launched in Australia through internet-connected PCs and Apple Mac, Sony Bravia TVs, Blu-ray players and PlayStation 3 game consoles, has gone live on the same platforms in New Zealand. The service will soon also be available through Samsung smart TVs, Galaxy Tablets and smartphones in both countries.

The Company also announced today that its streaming service is expected to be available on Apple iPads and iPhones over the coming weeks.

In a joint statement, Quickflix Executive Chairman and Founder, Stephen Langsford and Chief Executive Officer Chris Taylor said that Quickflix was positioned for the growing wave of consumer demand for IPTV delivered movies and TV which is occurring globally. “The investment we have made in our technology platform, integration in connected devices and Hollywood content is being leveraged as we deliver streaming into New Zealand” they said.
