Polish Operator Vectra Selects SeaChange’s Adrenalin Back Office for New Video-on-Demand Service

ACTON, Mass. — SeaChange International, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC), a leading global multi-screen video software innovator, announced that Vectra, Poland’s third-largest cable operator, will implement its next generation, web-centric Adrenalin video back office. Adrenalin will support Vectra’s rollout of video-on-demand (VOD) in 2012, as well as future expansion into multi-screen services and social TV. SeaChange will demonstrate Adrenalin at The Cable Show (Boston, May 21-23) and ANGA Cable (Cologne, June 12-14).

“Consumers want ever more choice. After extending our digital TV offering with additional channels, VOD is an important first step towards a truly multi-screen video service for our customers,” said Tomasz Zuranski, CEO of Vectra. “SeaChange has extensive experience of successful multi-screen video deployments worldwide, both in software and system integration. They have been a valuable partner in defining and implementing an infrastructure that supports our business strategy. The Adrenalin video back office fits perfectly. It’s easy to integrate with our existing IT and conditional access system, it’s future-proof and it has an open architecture that allows us to freely choose the best-of-breed components for our headend as well as subscriber devices.”

“SeaChange is very pleased to continue its expansion into Poland through a VOD deployment with Vectra,” said Erwin van Dommelen, President SeaChange Software. “Our open and flexible back office has enabled many of the world’s on-demand services rapidly and reliably, while establishing a cost-efficient path to support subscriber growth and the addition of new services and devices for a continually compelling offering.”

Vectra provides analog and digital cable television to over 800,000 customers in Poland. It offers broadband internet and fixed telephony, and mobile internet. The choice of Adrenalin reflects Vectra’s ambition to develop multi-screen services, delivering content to PCs, tablets and smartphones.

Adrenalin enables linear and VOD management across multiple devices and supports time-shifted services including restart TV, catch-up TV and network PVR models. Using an open, service-oriented architecture, this next-generation solution lets video service operators of all sizes deliver tens of thousands of video assets to hundreds of device types across multiple networks with a consistently rich viewing experience. It is compatible with multiple digital rights management systems and seamlessly enables additional opportunities such as content monetization through dynamic targeted advertising, promotions and offer management. Further, Adrenalin will enable video service providers like Vectra to enhance the subscriber experience through content recommendations and social media capabilities.
