iWedia to launch Teatro line of turnkey software solutions for STBs and Smart TVs at ANGA Cable 2012

LAUSANNE, Switzerland — iWedia, the international provider of software components and solutions for connected Consumer Electronics devices, today announced the launch of its Teatro line of products at ANGA Cable 2012 in Cologne. A comprehensive line of turnkey software solutions, Teatro is equally relevant for zappers, advanced STBs, and Smart TVs.

For the management of live and recorded TV, all Teatro editions are based on Comedia, a field proven DVB/ATSC software stack that has been deployed within millions of STBs and TV sets.

Teatro-2 targets simple DVB zappers with limited resources. It utilizes a real time operating system and a proprietary application engine (Maestro) for the development of built-in applications and their User Interface.

Teatro-3 aims at connected DVB STBs. Teatro-3.0 is intended for Linux/HTML5 devices, and Teatro-3.5 for Android/Java devices.

Teatro-4 extends the target from DVB to ATSC and from STB to Smart TV. It also features both a Linux/HTML5 (Teatro-4.0), and an Android/Java edition (Teatro-4.5).

A wide range of options are available with Teatro from CI Plus, MHEG-5, and PVR, through to DLNA, HbbTV, and client software for Over-The-Top services.

Each Teatro edition comes pre integrated within dedicated, “ready-for-production” turnkey hardware and software solutions designed by iWedia and based on chipsets provided by key market players.

Alongside the products, iWedia proposes world-class, cost effective, hardware and software integration services delivered by an experienced team of engineers used to enable rapid deployments of high volume Consumer Electronics devices.

A special attention has been paid for both simplifying and hardening the validation process and the products are all accompanied with an extensive and fully automated test suite.
