LONDON — The Israeli Broadcast Authority (IBA) has chosen CastUP’s multi-screen OTT platform and integration services for the launch of their new Over the Top (OTT) service in time for the London 2012 Olympics.

The new service, to be launched for the London 2012 Olympics, will include 9 live channels, network DVR, Catch-Up TV and VOD services to PC, smart phones, tablets (Android & iOS) and Samsung connected TVs. Using the CastUP platform, the IBA will be able to support large audiences during key sporting events with a superior video quality (including HD). Using CastUP Media Portal and real time overlay Electronic Program Guide (EPG), users will be able to watch live channels, restart live events, skip back in time during live events and watch related events in VOD format. The outcome is an advanced multi-screen OTT solution with the ability to view content anytime, anywhere and on any device.

The CastUP solution for the IBA, including the CastUP Ingest Workflow, CastUP Content Management System and CastUP CDN, is tailored to the IBA’s need to serve high quality video to tens of thousands of concurrent users in a cost effective way (HTTP adaptive streaming quality of up to 2.6 Mbps). In order to achieve automated workflows the CastUP platform was fully integrated with the IBA’s in-house systems, enabling an effective operation using a single management interface. The CastUP Content Management System will provide advanced management tools for VOD and linear content including an automatic catch-up TV workflow, blackout management and advanced video analytics reports.

“The IBA’s decision to launch an advanced service with CastUP is a real honor and we are excited to be able to support them with what is probably the most advanced OTT solution in the local market. This deal is a strong endorsement for our existing relationships and to our capability to deliver a solution for a high profile global sport event with very short notice, less than 2 months in this particular case.” commented Amir Yoffe, CEO, CastUP.
