700,000 subscribers at UPC DTH

LUXEMBOURG — UPC DTH S.à r.l. is pleased to announce that the UPC DTH customer base reached 700 000 which means growing almost 200 000 customers in the past 2 years.

Since UPC separated its DTH satellite business from the cable operations in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia as well as managing UPC’s Romanian FocusSat business, UPC DTH S.à r.l. has, by creating a more customer focused organization, managed to grow the subscriber base more than 10% annually.

UPC DTH is determined to be the best in class satellite TV provider in the region by focusing on operational areas that impact the customer experience. Recent tests indicate UPC DTH is providing better technical quality than competitors as well as good quality customer satisfaction through prompt and professional service installation. In addition, continuous product development and quality channel additions have been made throughout the year. UPC DTH provides easy access to our award winning Customer Care organizations through traditional phone and a number of on-line tools including Skype, an automatic call-back feature, an online web form or even through our Facebook pages. One of UPC DTH’s customer care partners CCC was the winner of a prestigious Stevie© Award for customer care quality during 2012.

In a recent interview Mr. Ternsjö pointed to the customer focus, increase in quality content packaged in a flexible and affordable way as well as delivering a first class service as some of the areas contributing to the UPC DTH success story. He also said that recent research indicated that UPC DTH customers are happier with their service than competitors in the market. In the same interview he indicated that research is also used to validate the channels provided at UPC DTH properties and determine channels that should be considered for future additions. Among those he mentions are more HD content in the coming year.
