LAS VEGAS, USA — Opera Software and Sigma Designs® (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions for home entertainment, connectivity and converging multimedia delivery, today announced they have teamed up together to optimize Opera’s TV products for Sigma’s optimized Smart TV processors.

The all-new Opera Devices Software Development Kit (SDK) 3.5, the Opera TV Browser and the Opera TV Store will now be integrated into Sigma Designs’ Smart TV processors. This collaboration combines Opera’s software expertise in developing browser-based solutions with Sigma’s Smart TV hardware expertise. The result being solutions developed to meet the needs of TV and device manufacturers who want to design embedded browser-based solutions into their products with minimal integration efforts. The Opera-powered Sigma processors will allow OEMs to bring their products faster to market and equip them with powerful HTML5-based technology that will bring more entertainment options and a better web experience for end users.

The powerful and versatile Opera Devices SDK is a framework for OEMs to develop or deploy user interfaces, applications, browsers or internet multimedia services on their devices.
