SAN DIEGO, CA and STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN — Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, and Com Hem, a leading supplier of pay-television, high-speed broadband and fixed-telephony to 1.74 million connected households in Sweden, today announced that the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) has been selected to secure Com Hem’s advanced multi-screen TV services scheduled to launch Spring 2013. The new service will be delivered via the TiVo (NASDAQ: TIVO) advanced television solution.

Verimatrix VCAS solutions provide a complete security infrastructure for advanced multi-network pay-TV services. Com Hem’s broadcast and hybrid STBs will feature advanced cardless ViewRight® clients that complement enhanced HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) ViewRight Web support for PC/Mac, tablet and mobile devices — all from a single conditional access (CA) platform.

Jens Persson, development manager of Com Hem, stated, “We recognize Verimatrix as to provide value in securing our new multi-network services. A single source for rights management across linear and on-demand content offers our customers the absolute best television experience. Verimatrix has provided excellent support in the integration of VCAS with TiVo and we look forward to launching one of the world’s most advanced TV services.”

Joshua Danovitz, vice president & general manager, international, TiVo Inc., stated, “We are excited to work with Verimatrix, as a trusted security provider, and Com Hem to deliver an advanced IPTV solution that allows non-set-top-box subscribers to enjoy TiVo, for the ultimate combination of traditional and next-generation television.”

“We are delighted to be chosen by Com Hem for this leading-edge deployment that highlights the power of hybrid network architectures. Providing an integrated experience across these touch points demands a sophisticated combination of user interface, metadata and security technologies,” said Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer, Verimatrix. “We feel that the partnership between TiVo and Verimatrix provides a compelling combination of strengths to Com Hem that optimize quality, functionality and the consumer experience.”
