Colombia adds 440,000 pay TV subscribers in 2012

Colombia’s Autoridad Nacional de Televisión (ANTV) has published pay TV subscriber figures for the country up to December 2012.

The total number of subscribers grew from 3.9 million at the end of 2011, to over 4.3 million at the end of 2012, a year-on-year growth rate of 11.3%. Cable TV grew by 5.2%, while the number of satellite TV subscribers went up by 39.7%, driven largely by DIRECTV which added 56.9% to its total over the year.
