CyberLink Announces Development of H.265 Video Codec

Commitment to new HEVC standard benefits customers by enabling better 4K video playback and delivery of higher quality content to mobile devices

TAIPEI, Taiwan — CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a provider of innovative media creativity solutions, today announced the development of a next-generation codec supporting the new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard. The HEVC (also known as H.265) standard–the successor to H.264 technology–uses new compression techniques to enable delivery of high definition video content that requires only half the bandwidth of H.264.
