Entropic EN75xx Family of High Definition Set-Top Box System-on-a-Chip Solutions Ready to Meet Content Security Protection Strategies of Global Pay-TV Operators

SAO PAULO, Brazil — ABTA 2013, Booth #D13 — Entropic (Nasdaq:ENTR), a world leader in semiconductor solutions for the connected home announced today its EN75xx family of highly-integrated, high definition (HD) set-top box (STB) system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions for worldwide satellite, cable and IPTV markets now support Irdeto Media Protection. Irdeto is a world leader in Media Protection, Multiscreen and Revenue Assurance solutions for pay media and content owners.

Ensuring high levels of security in the STB is a critical component to Pay-TV operators’ content protection strategies, especially as they deploy more broadband content and new video-centric services, including video-on-demand (VOD) and over-the-top (OTT) entertainment. By ensuring security at the chipset level, Pay-TV operators can maintain better control over their protected and premium content.

Entropic’s EN75xx STB SoC family has an advanced security architecture that leverages a dedicated processor to manage secure boot, software authentication and secure key management.

“We are confident our STB SoC solution has the advanced security architecture required to protect all forms of entertainment that are now being deployed on traditional, hybrid and IP-based set-top boxes,” said Roger Gregory, vice president, Marketing, Entropic. “We have deep domain expertise on the complexity and need for dynamic security in the STB, which we can now extend to service providers that rely on Irdeto for media protection.”
