Amino and Ittiam team for new HEVC demonstration on Live Home Media Centre at Telcovision 2013

  • Technology demonstration shows how operators can extend pay-TV reach on low bit rate networks

Amino Communications, leaders in IPTV, will demonstrate at Telcovision 2013 how network operators can use High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) technology to extend the reach of their IPTV service – and deliver a quality user experience even over low speed broadband connections.

The company will be showcasing a new software HEVC decoder from Ittiam, a pioneer in delivering technologies for the online video solutions segment, running on its high performance IPTV platform, the Live Home Media Centre.

HEVC – or H.265 – effectively halves the bandwidth required to deliver increasing numbers of HD channels and allows operators to extend delivery of a quality pay-TV experience on low bit rate networks.

However, HEVC also places considerable demands on a device – particularly CPU performance. At its booth – #523 – Amino will highlight how the Intel® Atom™ dual core-powered Live device provides sufficient CPU processing power to efficiently perform HEVC decoding in software while delivering a high quality user experience.

Amino will run the technology demonstration at its booth #523 at Telcovision 2013 from October 24th-25th at the LHV, in Las Vegas.
