Kasenna’s PortalTV™ delivers complete IPTV business and residential services to middle Tennessee using IP over ADSL2+/fiber access platform

NXTcomm, Chicago — Kasenna, The IPTV Company™, today announced that DTC Communications, formerly, Dekalb Telephone Cooperative, has selected Kasenna’s PortalTV product suite including LivingRoom™ middleware, and MediaBase XMP™ VOD server as the core components of a fully integrated IPTV service to be rolled out to middle Tennessee customers.

DTC is the first company in Tennessee to develop an Internet protocol television (IPTV) network using Kasenna products specifically to deliver triple play and more. DTC intends to roll out IPTV services in Q3 2007, expanding to a broader market as demand for IPTV services builds for business and residential customers within their local exchanges.

DTC is using Kasenna’s PortalTV as part of an IPTV competitive platform delivering Triple Play (Voice Video and Data) services. IPTV is the newest form of enriched entertainment and interactive television over IP broadband, and differentiates itself from competitive solutions such as Cable and Satellite providers by being truly interactive with the internet.

“Kasenna’s PortalTV suite will allow us to offer the highest quality of service and broadest choice of consumer services delivered by anyone today. Our competitive edge starts with selecting Kasenna as one of our IPTV solution partners, and feel confident that with these partners, we will deliver on our vision quickly.” said David Courtad, Manager-IPTV Services of DTC. “We strongly believe that people want more from their television viewing and with IPTV, we can deliver true interactive entertainment, greater video-on-demand choices, Internet gaming and eventually, the ability to interact with the Internet.”

“We are delighted to have been selected by DTC to provide the IPTV delivery platform for this exciting project in Tennessee. It was a natural fit, as both companies share the same vision for the convergence of two powerful media — television and Internet via IPTV — and reinforces why we say ‘Kasenna’s Portal TV–Where Television Meets the Internet!'” said Doug Hilmes, Kasenna VP Customer Solutions.
