Through its integration partner Sonitel Networks, a technology leader in media, network and access systems, CTV Telecom has installed an advanced, optical fiber-based IPTV digital platform featuring triple play and more, first in Panama City and then expanding to additional regions in the future. CTV Telecom subscribers can now enjoy a complete and secure IPTV experience including Interactive TV with a choice of over 100 broadcast, music and on-demand channels, telephone and broadband Internet.

“Next generation television is all about the user. And this user is demanding a complete, interactive entertainment experience that showcases the best of Hollywood and top networks,” said Juan McKenzie, Director of CTV Telecom. “Only SecureMedia, with their vast experience in content protection and enabling technology, allowed us to meet our users needs. The flexibility of the Encryptonite ONE System ensures that we will be able to offer even more IPTV entertainment and convenience options in the future.”

The Encryptonite ONE System is today’s proven multi-format, multi-platform CA/DRM software solution that provides the highest levels of digital content security while offering operational efficiencies and extended value. Approved by all major film studios and TV broadcasters, the Encryptonite ONE System allows telcos and broadband operators to acquire distribution rights to the most compelling broadcast channels and VOD programming. Its unique system design features an ultra-light, processor-efficient client that can be deployed on virtually any consumer media appliance to allow ubiquitous secure content distribution on current and future set-top boxes, PCs, portable players and mobile phones. Employing a patented, common encryption scheme for both broadcast and VOD content and through its exclusive EverLock™ process, the Encryptonite ONE System is the only solution available today that enables persistent and efficient protection of content at all times in distribution and storage including in DVR and nDVR applications. Newest innovations include exclusive platform extensions that allow for selectable digital forensics to track, identify and deter piracy of valued content (IdentiFind™), rapid middleware integration to speed time-to-market (CodeConnect™), and configurable security parameters for diverse quality content (TrustAdjust™).

“CTV Telecom has been at the forefront of truly understanding the new media consumer and providing those viewers with advanced entertainment services, now secured by our proven Encryptonite ONE System”, said Fred Ellis, COO of SecureMedia. “We are very excited to be selected by CTV Telecom and proud of the excellent integration work of our partner, Sonitel Networks. And we are thrilled to add Central America, in addition to North America, Caribbean and Switzerland, as another ‘first’ for SecureMedia, that is, chosen as the first content protection company to secure IPTV in those regions.”
