PHOENIX — Subscription-based direct broadcast satellite service provider Dish Mexico announced today that they selected Octoshape, an industry leader in cloud-based streaming technology, for the expansion of Dish content across broadband multiscreen devices within Mexico.

With a line-up of at least 30 over-the-air and public channels, Dish Mexico is the first broadcaster in Mexico to offer live and on-demand, multiscreen broadcast services over the Internet. Dish Mexico will leverage Octoshape’s patented Infinite HD-M™ stream acceleration technologies for both live and on-demand streaming for a full bouquet of content including sports, cultural, ethnic and arts channels. The technology has been selected to achieve a consistent, high-quality video playback across any device for a differentiated service targeted at existing and new subscribers.

Octoshape’s extensive solution set includes IP contribution and distribution services of more than 30 live channels to multiscreen devices coupled with content authentication, DVR functionality per stream, geo-blocking and other key services.
