Vodafone partners with Netflix – reveals launch offer

Vodafone is excited to be giving Kiwis an offer to get Netflix streaming on their smartphones, teaming up with Netflix as the exclusive communications launch partner in New Zealand.

From March 24, Vodafone New Zealand will give customers Netflix service free for 6 months when they sign up for 24 months to one of its Red+ mobile plans. The addition packs even more value into Vodafone’s popular mobile packages and will be available to new and existing customers. Some lucky customers will also be rewarded as part of Vodafone’s Fantastic Fridays loyalty initiative.

Partnering for the launch in New Zealand, the link between the two providers highlights Vodafone’s continued commitment to put the best content and entertainment in front of Kiwis.

Armed with Vodafone’s reliable 4G mobile network, customers will be able to unlock a world of movies and TV series while on the go. Using smartphones, tablets or laptops, Netflix members can choose from a range of content including original series such as family thriller Bloodline; and the globe-spanning adventure series Marco Polo as well as local movie favourite, ‘The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug.’ With new episodes added regularly, Netflix members can start watching on one device, pause and resume on another.

“We know how excited Kiwis are about the arrival of Netflix, and are delighted to be partnering with the Netflix team to launch in the home of ‘The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug,” said Matt Williams, Vodafone Consumer Director.

“We’ve got New Zealand’s largest 4G network so our customers can have the best seat in the house on their mobile.

“New Zealanders are showing us just how much great mobile content has become part of their everyday. Recent research highlighted that 41% of our customers stream content at least once a month.”

The promotional offer is available to customers until June 30, 2015.
