Keepixo Completes HEVC Interlaced and 4KP60 10bit Interoperability Testing With STMicroelectronics SoCs

GRENOBLE, France — Keepixo, a leading provider of software-based head-end solutions for IPTV and OTT, today announced the successful completion of HEVC tests using Keepixo’s Genova encoding solution running on STMicroelectronics’ latest-generation Ultra-HD HEVC 10-bit STiH418 system-on-chip (SoC).

The collaboration has proven full interoperability between Keepixo’s HEVC encoding technology and ST’s STB chipset with a special focus on unique differentiating features such as HEVC interlaced encoding and Ultra-HD resolutions up to 4KP60 10 bit. In HEVC, interlaced encoding is supported as an optional tool and uses “Sequence Adaptive Frame Field (SAFF),” which allows the coding mode to be dynamically changed between frame coding and field coding at video-sequence boundaries.
