Vodafone Ireland today launched TV services for the first time in Ireland. Vodafone TV has all the content and features customers expect from a state-of-the-art TV service with first-to-market extras. TV lovers can catch up, record and restart their favourite programmes at any point with the most versatile and seamless TV experience in the Irish market. Customers can enjoy Netflix from their TV browser or simply at their fingertips with a dedicated button on their remote control. This easy to navigate service, coupled with Vodafone TV’s first-to-market features, provides an unrivalled viewing experience.

Vodafone TV is a premium service available from only €40 per month to all new and existing Vodafone Home (Broadband) customers*. As part of the Vodafone TV service, Vodafone is today launching a new TV Anywhere app where mobile customers can watch their favourite shows while out and about. This service is included in the price of the customer’s Vodafone TV package. Also included in the package, customers can choose six months a) Netflix, b) Setanta Sports pack including BT Sports or c) Free Multiroom.

Research commissioned by Vodafone to mark the launch of Vodafone TV, revealed that viewers in Ireland are changing their viewing habits. One quarter of Irish adults now view TV content on-demand, and a further quarter embrace online streaming to fit into their busy lives. This demonstrates that people now want the flexibility to watch their favourite shows whenever and wherever they want. Vodafone TV enables customers to do just that.

Ciaran Barrett, Head of Consumer Fixed, Vodafone Ireland, commented on the launch, “This is a significant move for Vodafone in the Irish market, offering a full TV service to our customers for the first time. Vodafone TV customers can build their own packages to suit their household needs and enjoy unique features such as Restart TV and Netflix at the touch of a button. We’ve listened to our customers to understand what kind of TV service they want and we believe we are delivering great content with an excellent experience that brings convenience and seamless viewing from the home into the hand.”

* Vodafone TV is delivered through IPTV i.e. via high-speed broadband. It is available to consumers who have Vodafone Broadband speeds of at least 40mbps.
