At home or en route, the Telekom’s best network will create a digital concert experience that has never been seen before, offering viewers a whole new perspective of the show, the opportunity to be standing right next to the band and to be looking over their shoulder right on stage. The performance of the global superstars is part of the Telekom Street Gigs, the company’s very own music community programme and will take place during the IFA, the world’s oldest consumer electronics trade show.

“We excite with innovations. Together with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, in cooperation with Warner Music Group Germany and thanks to the best network, we will create a new dimension of entertainment, using the 360-degree live stream and virtual reality technology. True to our brand promise ‘Life is for sharing'”, Michael Schuld, Head of Communications and Distribution Marketing explains.

As one of the most successful acts in rock history, Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, have sold more than 60 million albums. With songs like “Californication”, “Give it Away” and “Under the Bridge” the Red Hot Chili Peppers are responsible for some of the greatest hits ever.

For over three decades the band has been a constant inspiration for fans worldwide, storming the charts once again with their latest album “The Getaway” produced by Danger Mouse. Over 104 platinum awards and acclaimed music honours, such as Grammy awards, Echo awards or MTV Music awards, as well as the induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012, are a part of their outstanding music legacy.

For visitors of the IFA a dedicated number of cardboards will be available free of charge, in order to experience the new dimension of 360-degrees at first hand. Furthermore cardboards will be on sale in Telekom Shops shortly. The Samsung Gear VR can be purchased online.
