Digital Television USB Dongle is Fully Compatible with China Digital Terrestrial TV Broadcasting Standard (GB20600-2006)

FREMONT, Calif. — Legend Silicon Corporation, a leading technology company delivering semiconductor solutions for terrestrial digital TV (DTV), has partnered with China’s aigo, a leader in consumer electronics, to create a revolutionary new product for viewing high definition television anywhere at any time. The USB Dongle, designed around Legend Silicon’s demodulation chipset and aigo’s mobile digital devices, will enable Chinese consumers to view terrestrial high definition television (HDTV) being programmed by China Central Television (CCTV) on their own laptops – just in time for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

As the leading producer of portable multimedia entertainment terminals in China, aigo has a reputation for innovation. In November 2007, aigo became the first Chinese high-tech brand to appear in the Olympic Museum. Partnering with Legend Silicon Corp. aigo is able to make its consumer products enter the next level.

”It is well known that Legend Silicon Corp. is the leader in developing core technology for China Digital Terrestrial Television (DTTV) in China. The USB Dongle, developed by Legend Silicon, will be the first aigo product in this new field,” said Yong Wei, General Manager of the Mobile Video Department of aigo. ”We believe that aigo will lead a new trend in consumer electronics with the launch of this product.”

Dr. Yeliang Shan, Vice President of Sales at Legend Silicon, echoes this sentiment. ”Legend Silicon has always been committed to developing the core technology of China’s digital television standard, GB20600-2006, and popularizing related products. With the powerful brand influence and marketing capability of aigo in the field of consumer electronics, GB terrestrial DTV technology will be accessible to people, allowing them to view the Olympic Games through mobile devices.”

With an estimated 800,000 foreign tourists and 15 million local viewers expected to tune in to the 2008 Olympic Games, the launch of the USB Dongle comes at an opportune time. As Yong Wei stated, ”People can use the USB Dongle as the most advanced, most economical and most convenient way to enjoy the Olympic Games, anywhere and any time, just plugging it into their computers.”

Legend Silicon and aigo anticipate that the USB Dongle – with its ease of use, portability and moderate price tag – will become a requisite piece of high-tech equipment for early adopters during the Olympic Games.
