Telia Company (formerly TeliaSonera) Deploys ARRIS IPTV Set-Tops for TV and Streaming Service in Sweden and Finland

SUWANEE, Ga. — Telia Company selected the VIP4302 set-top from ARRIS International, plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) to deliver IPTV services to its TV and streaming customers in Sweden and Finland.

The new service, launched last week, offers IPTV content with a fully integrated Netflix and YouTube experience. The ARRIS VIP4302 also supports new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) – with twice the efficiency of current video delivery standards – enabling Telia Company to offer a greater breadth of advanced HD services over its current network.

“ARRIS has been our strategic partner for the past decade, as Telia Company has evolved and grown our IPTV services,” said Christofer Peilitz, Global Product Manager at Telia Company. “ARRIS’s global scale and expertise have enabled us to bring the latest entertainment experiences to Telia Company’s customers, and our deployment of its new VIP4302 set-top marks the start of an exciting new era of IPTV services for our subscribers.”

“Our deployment with Telia Company showcases the versatility of ARRIS’s new IPTV set-tops in combining traditional TV and OTT entertainment,” said Steve McCaffery, Managing Director of International Sales and Business Operations for ARRIS’s International Business Operations Group. “The ARRIS VIP4302 is at the center of Telia Company’s impressive integration of Netflix and IPTV programming. And it’s proven itself to be the ideal foundation for delivering a seamless customer experience across Telia Company’s TV and streaming services.”
