Eurofins to use SmarDTV CAM for CI Plus 1.4 testing

CHESEAUX, Switzerland — SmarDTV, a Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) company, today announced that it is collaborating with Eurofins Digital Testing by providing its CAM platform as part of Eurofins’ new CI Plus 1.4 test tool, automating integrated Digital TV (iDTV) and Common Interface set-top box (STB) testing.
The extension of the CI Plus standard with revision 1.4 comes into force for iDTVs and STBs brought to market from September 2017 onward. The CI Plus 1.4 specification introduces multi-stream PVR capability, TV IP interface for OTT and IPTV operators, operator virtual channel. It also offers enhanced user interactivity based on HbbTV.
“This module platform complements our test suite for CI Plus certification of STBs and iDTVs and allows the market to maintain full interoperability with all related CE devices, guarantees ease of use by end customers and allows pay-TV operators to create new offers or services based on a strong foundation with pre-certified devices,” said Johan Craeybeckx, Business Line Director at Eurofins Digital Testing International.
