ARRIS Introduces Advanced Set-Top Portfolio Providing TiVo Experience; Supports the NCTC VU-IT! Program

SUWANEE, Ga. — ARRIS International plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) today announced the availability of three advanced set-tops providing the TiVo® user experience, that support the NCTC VU-IT! Program. The NCTC VU-IT! Program is focused on enabling independent operators to deliver integrated OTT services alongside standard cable programming.

The next-generation set-top portfolio includes the MG2 Cable Media Gateway, Mi4 IP Client, and Qi3 Cable Set-Top/IP Client. These devices comprise a second-generation range of turnkey TiVo solutions that complement ARRIS’s unmatched support for the platform, enabling NCTC members to conveniently combine the best of traditional QAM video with the signature TiVo experience and OTT content—including Netflix and YouTube.

The new ARRIS portfolio provides a range of options for incorporating the latest UltraHD capabilities, including 4K and HDR services. Each of the three devices features MoCA® 2.0 home networking technology for leveraging existing coaxial cables throughout the home to deliver IP content without installing new wires. The new devices will be on display at ARRIS’s booth (#301) at the NCTC Independent Show from July 24 to 26.

MG2 Cable Media Gateway – an HDR-ready six-tuner video gateway with a 1TB hard drive and robust 4K support, enabling future TiVo application enhancements as well as the ability to view live and DVR content on mobile devices and client devices like the Mi4 and Qi3.
Mi4 IP Client – an in-home 4K and HDR-ready multi-room (MR) DVR client to the Arris MG2 and MG1 video gateway, enabling existing subscribers to easily upgrade to a 4K experience.
Qi3 Cable Set-Top Client – a cost-effective subscriber entry point for the TiVo experience. The Qi3 can operate as a stand-alone HD set-top using DTA security or as a MR-DVR client to the in-home video gateway like the MG2 and MG1. It is also one of the first devices to achieve CAL certification for DTA security to deliver a seamless, world-class user experience.
