Eurofins Digital Testing Launches Smart Home Test Suite to Maintain Interoperability between Home Automation Products

According to market research firm IHS, at least 130 million smart home devices will be shipped worldwide in 2017, a 60% increase from 20161. Today, ahead of the IBCShow, Eurofins Digital Testing, a global leader in end-to-end quality assurance (QA) and testing services, unveiled its new Smart Home Test Suite for both operators and manufacturers to maintain interoperability between devices and services in the smart home ecosystem.

Eurofins’ Smart Home Test Suite is an expansion of its cloud-based TestWizard system, which is relied on by TV operators worldwide to reduce development, testing and deployment cycles to accelerate video service delivery. As part of today’s announcement, TestWizard has broadened to provide automated interoperability testing services and quality assurance across the smart home marketplace. According to ABI Research, telecom/cable companies, security providers and retail providers will all share similar subscriber bases by 2020, and the ability for managed service providers to transition DIY installations into subscription services will provide a valuable pathway to growth2. Eurofins’ Smart Home Test Suite provides seamless integration between smart home products by identifying interoperability issues before they compromise the customer experience. It ensures all device functionalities, interfaces, applications and protocols work together as a complete and unified system.

Eurofins’ Smart Home Test Suite is designed to help operators and manufacturers test the interoperability of new devices and services at scale to ensure a quality in-home experience.”

Eurofins’ Smart Home Test Suite supports a wide range of home automation products, including:

  • Wireless security systems;
  • Smoke, carbon monoxide and flood detectors;
