DivX Certifies NXP's Media Processors to Power IP Set Top Boxes, Digital Media Adapters and Portable Players

Innovative Line of Chips Give Consumers Rich Digital Experience by Supporting DivX Video Across Multiple Devices

San Diego, CA and Eindhoven, The Netherlands — DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ: DIVX) and NXP Semiconductors, an independent semiconductor company founded by Philips, today announced the DivX Certification of a series of processors designed to power a variety of device categories, including IP set-top boxes (STBs), digital media adapters, personal media players and in-car media players. Specifically, the NXP Nexperia(TM) processors PNX0190, PNX0191, PNX9520, PNX1501, PNX1502, PNX1503, and PNX1520 are now DivX Certified to provide consumers with an enriched digital media experience by supporting playback of the high-quality DivX Media Format on consumer electronic devices.

All NXP Nexperia DivX Certified chips will play back DivX video content at Home Theater resolutions and will include DivX digital rights management technology, enabling compatibility with download-to-own video services. The NXP processors are among the first DivX Certified chipsets for the IP set top box market, which will provide another way for end users to enjoy DivX content from the Internet or their PCs directly on their televisions.
