MTS satellite television subscriber base exceeds 750 thousand users

MOSCOW, Russia – MTS PJSC (NYSE: MBT, MOEX: MTSS), the largest Russian telecommunications operator and digital services provider, has announced that the subscriber base of its MTS Satellite TV service has increased by one and a half times compared with the first half of 2018 to reach 752,000.

The highest growth in the number of subscribers was recorded in the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Stavropol Territory.

“MTS satellite television is steadily increasing the number of subscribers due to competitive tariffs, high-quality channel content and unique convergent offers that combine TV, mobile voice services and high-speed Internet access,” said Alexei Ivanov, Director General of MTS Satellite TV. “We intend to continue to actively move towards combining several services around satellite TV to increase user comfort when using our product.”

In January 2019, MTS PJSC and MTS Satellite TV launched the “All MTS Satellite” convergent product, under which the subscriber can simultaneously connect satellite TV and a mobile Internet router and use these services under one contract with a discount of over 30% on their total cost, and also get a discount on equipment of up to 40%. Since May, the service has become available in all regions where MTS Satellite TV is present. Since the product’s launch, it has accounted for over a quarter of satellite TV connections.

MTS satellite TV broadcasts in 83 regions of the Russian Federation (with the exception of Kamchatka and Chukotka). The service offers its subscribers up to 220 channels.
