True Royalty TV Scales its Direct-to-Consumer Service with Vimeo’s OTT Technology

  • With Vimeo as Global Technology Provider, True Royalty TV Gains Roku App Access and IAP on iOS, Android and Apple TV

NEW YORK — True Royalty TV, the first and only subscription video on demand service created to satisfy the millions of fans of the British Royal Family, is leveraging Vimeo’s over-the-top (OTT) technology to accelerate its direct-to-consumer business. Vimeo now powers True Royalty TV in all markets, including the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The announcement was made today by Gregor Angus, CEO of True Royalty TV.

Vimeo, the world’s leading professional video platform, provides powerful tools for creators to build custom subscription services across all major platforms and connected devices. The technology platform is providing True Royalty TV with access points and seamless in-app purchase (IAP) functionality on iOS, Android, Apple TV, and, for the first time for the service, via the Roku app. The platform also provides True Royalty TV with “live” streaming capability for live events and shows.

The launch comes just in time for the debut of True Royalty TV’s highly anticipated original documentary Meghan for President, premiering on November 3. The documentary explores the Duchess of Sussex’s far-reaching impact and political aspirations and includes interviews with friends, colleagues, former teachers and Royal experts about the growing influence of this strong-willed American who has gained the world’s fascination as a new member of the British Royal Family.
