Edgeware and Dreampark Announce Joint Integration to Enable Advanced nPVR and Time Shift TV

STOCKHOLM — Dreampark, one of the leading providers of middleware for cable, terrestrial and IPTV services in the European market, and Edgeware, the supplier of revolutionary server systems for On-Demand TV, today announced the completion of a joint integration project that enables operators to provide attractive and cost-effective TV services. The combined offering, already selected by multiple operators in Europe, is one of the first fully integrated IPTV offerings to enable a wide range of interactive features, including network Personal Video Recording (nPVR), Time Shift TV with trick play, Start Over TV, Historic Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Scheduled Recordings.

The nPVR features are ready for commercial deployment with Dreampark´s Dreamgallery™ 3.4 release, which fully supports the native Time Shift functionalities offered by Edgeware´s Orbit 2x server platform.

Designed ground up for On-Demand TV, the Orbit 2x platform provides instantaneous playout of fully interactive on-demand streams from ongoing or pre-recorded live channel programs. Each server can record up to 320 simultaneous live TV channels, while streaming up to its full 20Gbps capacity. “Features such as Start Over and Historic EPG represent unique differentiators for IPTV operators but are complex for the end user,” said Magnus Persson, Director of Sales, Dreampark. “To remove the complexity, Dreamgallery 3.4 offers a new navigation concept which gives the end user immediate access to all the different Network PVR features with a single button press.
