Eurofins to provide 'Alexa Built-in' testing

HASSELT, Belgium — Eurofins Digital Testing, a global leader in end-to-end quality assurance (QA) and testing services, today announced that it will now provide certified, third-party testing services to help developers and manufacturers earn Amazon’s “Alexa-Built-in” Badge.

Alexa is Amazon’s cloud-based voice service available on more than 100 million devices from Amazon and third-party device manufacturers. With Alexa, you can build natural voice experiences that offer customers a more intuitive way to interact with the technology they use every day. Amazon offers a collection of tools, APIs, reference solutions, and documentation to make it easier to build for Alexa.

The Alexa Built-in program helps device makers create products that are certified to bring high-quality Alexa experiences to new categories—from smart speakers, sound bars, thermostats, smartphones, home appliances, PCs, TVs, wearables, hearables, in-car accessories, head-unit integrations, light switches, mirrors, smoke detectors, set-top boxes, and more. Eurofins Digital Testing will test other companies’ Alexa-integrated devices, according to the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) self-test checklists, which are required in order to carry the Alexa Built-in Badge from Amazon.

Eurofins Digital Testing will provide the device, acoustic and service testing required for certification and badging, which consists of four key areas: Functionality, User Experience (UX), Music Service Provider (MSP), and Far-Field (FF)/Hands-Free Acoustic. Eurofins Digital Testing will also provide implementation support for customised acoustic testing for choice of materials and mechanical design, white-box testing, code review, and more.
