ViXS XCode™ 3290 Video Processor works with Bluestreak's MachBlue Flash® Player

Bluestreak and ViXS Systems collaborate on enabling Flash® for CE and STB manufacturers

TORONTO, Canada — ViXS Systems, the leading developer of video processing solutions, announced today that the XCode™ 3290, the world’s most advanced MPEG4 AVC (MPEG4 Part 10/H.264) Transcoder/Encoder/Decoder System-on-a-Chip (SoC) has been enabled with Bluestreak’s MachBlue TV product. MachBlue offers a complete application environment that enhances navigation, graphical display, and device functionality, allowing user interface specialists the ability to use Adobe® Flash®, in addition to Bluestreak’s powerful APIs and development kits, to design services and navigators that create visual impact and bottom-line value.

ViXS’ XCode™ 3290 features/functions line up perfectly with manufacturers’ needs for products such as HD STBs, PVRs, DTVs, Blu-Ray/HD DVD recorders, Media Servers, Remote TV and Network Attached Storage (NAS). With dual HD transcoding/encoding/decoding, dense peripheral integration and powerful multi-processor architecture, the XCode™ 3290 is ideal for the next generation of CE products that require storage, networking and content protection. Its powerful processors allow for multiple and/or advanced applications such as PVR, DLNA and networking to run seamlessly without the aid of an external CPU.

Bluestreak Technology develops a client application framework for embedded devices (MachBlue™), which gives OEMs, Network Operators and Service Providers the ability to create interactive rich-media experiences on CE devices such as mobile phones, set-top boxes and digital televisions. The MachBlue™ platform is designed to enhance navigation, through advanced graphical displays and extends this functionality on any device through a Flash®-based presentation engine optimized for embedded devices with thin resources.
